It is always difficult to remember what happened before and during the international break, but thankfully we are here to do that for you. We have tracked all of the international matches and will give you our honest opinion on what you could do in the upcoming gameweek for your team to gain as many points as possible.
Players to Consider:
Harry Maguire (5.4):
West Bromwich Albion has scored only a single goal in their last three away outings and it is highly unlikely for that to change against a Manchester United side that is slowly but surely gaining their composure this season. Maguire was absolutely brilliant in the break and has been more active in the air than he has been all season in the last four gameweeks which could definitely allow him to be a great threat in aerial duels, both in his own half and the opponents box.
Hakim Ziyech (8.2):
Ziyech has started off great for his new club despite the injury sustained in preseason. There are very positive signs from his early performances and there is no reason why he cannot take over the league similarly to how Bruno Fernandes did after coming to Manchester United in January. Ziyech has also created more big chances than any other player in the last two games and that run could definitely continue against Newcastle this week.
Jamie Vardy (10.1):
I would never recommend you a player who is playing against Liverpool, especially when they are playing at Anifeld, but Vardy would be an exception. In the last four gameweeks, Vardy has took more shots on target than any other player and created more chances than anyone else, and you can definitely count on him to get something out of the game against a Liverpool side that is wounded by injuries in their defensive line right now.
Aaron Creswell (5.1):
Creswell is not only a great defender but the primary set piece taker for the Hammers. Sheffield United has conceded more chances down their right side than any other team this season and you can expect that to continue against West Ham this week, giving Creswell a lot of freedom in landing crosses in the box that could definitely end up in the goal.
Bruno Fernandes (10.6):
Bruno was absolutely instrumental in United’s win against Everton before the international break, and you can count on him to carry on that performance in the upcoming gameweeks with fairly easy fixtures at their hand. Bruno will still be on set piece duties despite Alex Telles coming in and you can always rely on him to get you something out of those set pieces.
Players to Avoid:
Sadio Mane (12.1):
Many FPL managers are moving towards Mane as the replacement for Salah but you have to consider how good Leicester are right now and Liverpool wont enjoy the same attacking freedom they usually do with both Mane and Salah upfront. It would be a big risk to spend that much on Mane this week and you should look for alternatives.
Bruno Fernandes would be my pick for this week because of how weak West Brom are right now. There are bound to be so many chances going through Bruno and honestly, I feel like this would be the week of Bruno. I am going to Captain him too but if you are still not sold on him, do consider Jack Grealish too!
